Sunday stash and stitching report

I haven’t been doing any hand stitching lately. But, I do have something to share about my past Sunday stitching project. I entered La Passacaglia into our Fall Fair here in our delightful city, and it took first place in its wall hanging division. Yippee! Woohoo! Happy dance! We went to see it last Wednesday evening, just to see what it looked like actually hanging up. Here’s a pic of our grand daughter Abbie and I standing in front of it.

I haven’t done a stash report since way back at the end of July. I’ve been keeping track, just haven’t actually had a chance to write up a report here. So the numbers are going to be looking rather good, considering they cover over 6 weeks. The up side to the rush before a quilt show is all the finishes which take up lots of stash for making backings. Add to that, the new quilt that I’ve designed and am self testing the instructions for, which involved doing all the cutting at once, and I am back in positive numbers again.

Used since August 1st:                       25.4 yards
Used this year:                                    68.5 yards
Added since August 1st:                     11 yards
Added this year:                                  61.45 yards
Net stash busted:                                   7.05 yards

I have big plans for the rest of today. I’m going to spend it sitting in front of my sewing machine to see how much more I can get done. I just might have some blocks to show on a design wall post tomorrow.
I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Judy’s Stash Report.

La Passacaglia is finished!!!

Here she is, in all her wonderful glory. Needless to say, I am over the moon happy with this finish! The first picture here is taken outside. It shows the full quilt and is perfectly true to colour. It didn’t show the quilting very well, though, so I took her inside to a more indirect light. I did concentric circles in all the rosettes. I love how they overlap and circle over top of each other. This has been a long journey. I started this quilt back in December of 2014. When I initially got the book and then the papers in the mail, I looked at the size of the triangles for the star points, and almost didn’t start, they were so small, and so intimidating. But with much encouragement from many friends, I kept at it and got it done. I was intending to post this on Sunday for Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching, but life got in the way, so it’s being posted Monday instead. Here’s a close up of the border fabric and the binding fabric which, continuing with the hand stitching theme, was stitched to the back by hand. I usually do my bindings by machine. The backing fabric is a perfect fit to the multicoloured rosette shapes on the front.
So, I’ll post this a day late to Kathy’s links party. Hmmmm..... maybe I won’t. the link up is closed. Oh well, I guess then that  it’s time to trim another quilt and get its binding made and applied.
Edit.... I linked up to the next week’s party instead.... Slow Sunday Stitching

Sunday Stash and Stitching Report

Hmmmmm, somewhere along the way these weekly report have turned into every other week reports. Not good. I have an excuse this time........ don’t I always?? That machine I was having issues with...... the issues didn’t get fixed, so last Sunday was spent taking it off the rails of the table and packing it into a box and getting it to the UPS store. By the time all that was done, my brain was so fried, not to mention the parts of me that hurt after lifting the thing, that there was no sewing and no blogging to be done. And that then seems to have continued through the week. While the machine is in the long arm hospital, I’ve decided that it’s a good opportunity to do some cleaning and organizing, both in the studio and then downstairs in our apartment. I ask again, why does organizing create such a mess?
However, during the last couple of weeks I have had the chance to add the last border onto La Passacaglia, and get the corners of those borders mitred and sewn. So, all that’s left is to hand stitch down the white pentagons on two more corners. I just might make that finished by the end of April deadline.

There’s been some movement in the stash in both directions. A group of friends and I went to the St Mary’s quilt show yesterday, and there was some stash added during that trip. It all has specific quilt destinations, so I’m hoping it will get used up very soon.

Used last 2 weeks:                          2.3 yards
Used this year:                              20.15 yards
Added last 2 weeks:                        5.95 yards
Added this year:                            11.45 yards
Net stash busted:                              8.7 yards

We’re heading off to church in a little while. We usually go Saturday evenings, but didn’t make it yesterday due to the quilt show.  In the meantime, I’m linking up to Judy’s Stash Report, Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Angie’s WIPs Be Gone. Once we get home from church, there will most definitely be some Slow Sunday Stitching in the plans.

Sunday Slow Stitching and Stash report.

Today on her Sunday Stitching post, Kathy talked about hand stitching as being a way to relieve stress, and that we who love it should not feel guilty for taking the time to do it. Not only that, but it’s an essential part of relieving the stress of life. She is so right! It isn’t a big thing in the overall scheme of things, but yesterday I was so stressed. It was time for some maintenance on my long arm machine. She was doing some pretty weird things with the stitch regulator. I had some new parts here, so yesterday was the day we decided to install them. APQS, the maker of my machine always sends out very detailed and easy to follow instructions on how to install new parts when necessary. We had to take it apart, and this is how the insides look..... very scary! We went step by step through the process, in this case installing new circuit boards, following the instructions exactly as written and the pictures as shown. Once we got to the part of the instructions that said to turn the machine on and test the needle up/down speed, We did that....... zero, zip, nada happened. The machine turned on but not a move did she make. Have I mentioned before that there are times, not many thankfully, that I would cheerfully throw this thing out the window, assuming that I could lift it? Well, yesterday was one of them. By the end of the day I’d calmed down. Going to church to worship helped immensely. And today, I’m doing what Kathy suggests is necessary to my sanity and my health. I’m slowly hand stitching on La Passacaglia. The third side of the border is almost done. I should be able to get the fourth border pinned in place and started today. I’ve had a very loose mental goal of getting this finished by the end of April. If it continues this way, I just might make it.
Between the fabric for these borders, and making a backing for Northern Tree Line, I’ve had some stash used progress.

Used last 2 weeks:                             7.7 yards
Used this year:                                 17.85 yards
Added last 2 weeks:                              0 yards
Added this year:                                  5.5 yards
Net stash busted:                               12.35 yards

I’m linking up with Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching, Judy’s Stash Report and Angie’s WIPs Be Gone. I think I’ll take some time for a cup of tea and a browse through some of those links, and then it will be back to more stitching.

Slow Sunday Stitching and Stash Report

First off, before anything else, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. He is risen! Praise the Lord! Here’s a great song for this Easter Sunday.
I’ve been working a bit on my La Passacaglia again, and I have one of the borders almost finished. It took a bit of pondering to figure out how to get these borders on. I ended up laying the quilt out on a large table and chalking in the straight lines on the top and bottom of the quilt. Then I chalked in lines down the sides, making sure that the corners intersected where they would be hidden behind the quilt top in order to be able to mitre the corners. After that, I had to figure out how to transfer the chalk lines, which were on the front of the quilt, to the back of the quilt in order to have a straight line guide for pinning the borders on. I ended up doing basting through the chalk line so the thread would show on the back, and used that as my guide. Then there was more pinning and more basting to make sure nothing moved or shifted while I was hand stitching. I’m totally winging it here, so I hope everything lays flat and even once I’m done.Right now, the body of the quilt is looking fuller than the border fabric, due to all the seams. I’m hoping a good pressing will fix that.

I had a small amount of stash used this week, for the binding of a quilt. Past that point, nothing has changed since the last stash report 4 weeks ago.

Used this week:                      .7 yards
Used this year:                  10.15 yards
Added this week:                     0 yards
Added this year:                   5.5 yards
Net stash busted:                4.65 yards

I’m linking up to Judy’s Stash Report and Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching. After that, I’ll spend a little time for stitching before our Easter supper.

Sunday Stash and Stitching Report

You see those two white pentagons sitting there?

They fit into that space in between those green stars. Those are the last two!! Once those are sewn into place, this project is ready for its next stage...... adding the borders. Can we get a yippee and a woohoo and a happy dance?!? I’m going to make this a short post, so I can get those last two pieces sewn in before the evening is over.

As far as stash report goes, I’ve had a few additions, but lots of usage too. I’ve been busy binding and finishing and even making a backing for my D4P. If the weather ever cooperates, I’ll get some pictures. It was lovely and sunny out today, but way too windy for photos.

Used last 2 weeks:                    6.45 yards
Used this year:                          9.45 yards
Added last 2 weeks:                      4 yards
Added this year:                         5.5 yards
Net stash busted:                      3.95 yards

I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Judy’s Stash Report and then I’m going back to stitching.

Sunday Stash and Stitching report

I have great news.... La passacaglia is all together! All that is left is to put the rest of the white around the edge and it is done. Well, not quite because then I have to attach it to the outer border, but still, it’s so close! Here she is in all her glory. What a long and fun process this has been. But I must confess to being more than ready to have this finished.

There wasn’t a lot of stash used up in the last while, and just a little bit added.

Used this week:                          .6 yards
Used this year:                            3 yards
Added this week:                        1 yard
Added this year:                          1 yard
Net stash busted:                         2 yards

Slow Sunday Stitching and Stash Report

I love Sundays. the day I set aside each week for hand stitching. If I didn’t set it aside, I don’t think I’d ever get any done. I finished the second last rosette for La Passacaglia this afternoon. Tonight’s job is going to be stitching it into the place where it will live. After last week’s post I got to looking around my stash, and my eye happened upon what I think is the perfect border for this project.
I was thinking it would involve a shopping trip in order to find something, but it turns out I had the best fabric here. I have almost three yards of it, which should be plenty to do the job. And best of all, it uses up some of the stuff that I added last year.
I do finally have some stash used numbers to report this week, having made a quilt backing and a couple of bindings.

Used this week:                                            2.4 yards
Used this year:                                              2.4 yards
Added this week:                                              0 yards
Added this year:                                                0 yards
Net stash busted:                                           2.4 yards

As always when tracking my stash, I don’t have a particular goal in mind, as in a certain amount to use, or buying restrictions or anything like that. I do it purely for curiosity to see how much is coming in and going out. With this hand project almost finished, I just might get back into doing things that use up stash a bit more quickly than this has done. So far, it’s been a year and a little bit since I started this thing. Another month just might finish it. Then I have to make a decision about what I do for my next hand work project. For now, I’ll link up to Judy’s Stash Report, Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Angie’s WIPs Be Gone.

Slow Sunday stitching

I’m continuing to work on La Passacaglia. I have one small section left to sew in the main body of the quilt, along those light purple stars. After that, I need to  add stars to two more rosettes and put them in on the right hand side. Then it will be just adding on the last of the white framing pieces. I am beginning to question my plans of appliquéing the white framing pieces to a white border. I’ve seen one done with the white sewn down onto a coloured border, and I really liked it. And looking at the picture of the entire piece laying on the dark coloured floor, I think I like the way the white against the dark makes the centre of this quilt shine out more. Almost like when framing a picture, there’s often a narrow white piece of matting before the larger coloured matt around the picture. I’m almost thinking that a wide white border will be too bright, and that’s all I’ll see. Any opinions..... yes or no to colour or white? Of course then the real question will be, what colour? Oh well, I have time before I get to that point. I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching, and then it’s back to actually stitching.

Sunday Stash and stitching report, week 1

The stash part is easy...... nothing in and nothing out, But considering the year is only 3 days old, that isn’t all that great an accomplishment in either direction. As in other years, in stash tracking, I’m doing it for curiosity sake, rather than an attempt to use a certain amount or an attempt to restrict any stash enhancing.

I’ve spent the whole day slow stitching. I really wanted to get the white around the left upper corner, which I’ve now done. In addition, as a great bonus, I’ve also gotten the top left section stitched to the bottom. So, now all that is left is the top right hand section, which is already mostly done. It needs the white added on, and a few more rosettes sewn onto it. It’s gotten so much closer to being done after all the hours spent on it today. The last stitches were put into this section during the final minutes of the first episode of Downton Abbey. I’m going to link this up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Angie’s WIPs be Gone. After that, considering it’s almost 10:30 at night, I think that just might be it for the day.

Sunday stash and stitching report.

I’ve finally had some movement in my stash. I used some this past week to make a backing for a quilt, and also cut some more white to keep on going with the fillers around La Passacaglia. However, the use was cancelled out and then some with some intake. Some of it is really pretty large scale florals that just might make it into the backing of my large scale floral Disappearing Four Patch swap blocks. I’m thinking they’ll be the first project put together in the New Year.
I’ve been working on La Passacaglia today, glue basting more white filler pieces for around the outside edge. I’ve gotten some sewing done on it, too. I’ve started on the top left section now. Just three more rosettes on that section to put white around, and then I can start on the top right section. It gets closer to a finish with each week that goes by. After all the white filler pieces go on comes the next decision, what to do with it next. The original thought is to appliqué it down to white borders. But looking at it here, laying on the dark carpet, I kinda like how the dark makes the rest of it stand out. Oh well, I have quite a long while before I have to decide that. What I need to do is get out a couple of lengths of white and try it out.

Fabric used this week:              5.9 yards
Fabric used this year:            87.4 yards
Added this week:                       9 yards
Added this year:                   119.7 yards
Net stash added:                     32.3 yards

This is the lowest amount of fabric that I’ve used in years, I think. And I suspect a lot of that is caused by my obsession with La Passacaglia. It’s taken up so much of my time that I would ordinarily have spent machine piecing quilts, rather than the intense hand piecing this has taken. But I don’t regret on single second spent on this project. It has been enjoyable all the way through. I’m linking to Judy’s Stash Report and Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching. Then it’s back to more stitching.

Sunday Stitching Report.

I’m doing more on La Passacaglia today. I’ve almost finished putting the white fillers around the bottom half of this quilt.
I also sewed the rosette with the light orange stars into place on the left hand side today.  All that’s left is to sew a few more whites onto that light orange rosette and the burgundy one above it, and then I can move onto adding them to the two top sections, not pictured here. This process is going much faster than I thought it would. Then I have to figure out what I’m doing with the border, beyond putting it onto more white. At this point, I’m not sure I want to add on any colour to the outer edges. I want to keep all the focus on what’s going on in the centre. But that could change. Maybe a narrow border of the same dark grey I used in the centre of all the large rosettes. I won’t know that until the whole thing is finished. So, with that in mind, I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching, and then going back to do a bit more on this.
I’m not bothering with a stash report again this week. There hasn’t been any movement in either direction. I’m going to have to cut some more white to make some more filler pieces for this project, so I might be able to count a small amount out next week.

Sunday Stitching

I’m continuing to work on putting white filler pieces around the bottom section of La Passacaglia. It’s a slow process, and not too terribly exciting, although I do really like the way the white is making  the colours of the stars shine out. I think you’ll have to biggie size the picture though, in order to see it. Right now looking at the picture, all I’m seeing is white. But that might be because of the contrast with the floor.
Today I’m hoping to get the white sewn to the dark grey and the red star points. There’s a rosette that has to be sewn into place in that large gap between the red and the burgundy star. Once that is done, I can add in more of the white, and that will finish the fillers on this half of the quilt. I’m not exactly sure just how much of this I’ll get done today. It’s our family get together for decorating the house and the Christmas tree today, along with dinner and munchies. But I might be able to get some done before they get here. The roasts are thawing out, and just need to be put into the oven. And there will be hands other than mine to do the potato and vegetable preparations. So  I should be able to get a couple of hours that I can dedicate to this. And I can also stitch while visiting. I’m not going to bother with writing out a stash report this week, since there hasn’t been any change since the last one. I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and then it will be stitching time.

Sunday Stash and Stitching Reports

I’m finally back to stitching on La Passacaglia again. I’ve been stalled on this one for the last couple of weeks, mostly because of so many other things demanding my attention. But today I picked it back up again. First I stitched on the green rosette with blue stars on the bottom right. And then I started the very long process that is going to be the sewing of white filler pieces around the whole thing. I’ve started on the right hand side of the bottom section. Once all the white filler pieces are on, I’ll sew the three sections that it’s currently in together, and then stitch the whole thing down onto a white border. Still lots of hours left on this project. But it’s getting much closer to a finish. I really want to get this finished, because there are hexagon projects that I want to do. We had a workshop at the guild a little over a week ago, taught by Karen from Faeries and Fibres. I blogged about it here on the guild’s blog. It was a fabulous workshop, one of the best I’ve ever attended, and I’m itching to get at working on the project. But I know for certain that if I start working on that, then this project will quickly turn into a UFO, and I don’t want that. So my hexagon pieces will remain in their container until this is done.

As far as stash usage goes, there was a little bit out for the Disappearing Four Patch swap that I’m doing with Jannette, and the white that was cut for the filler pieces. Nothing new in, which is good news, even if it isn’t very much fun.

Used this week:                                   1.4 yards
Used this year:                                  81.5 yards
Added this week:                                   0 yards
Added this year:                                110.7 yards
Net stash added:                                    29.2 yards

I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Judy’s Stash Report. And then I’m going back to watching Pride and Prejudice, the Colin Firth version, and stitching on more white filler pieces.

Sunday Stash and Stitching report

What a glorious day it has been today. One of those autumn days where the temperatures are comfortable, the sky is a gorgeous deep blue, and the coloured leaves are scattered in front of the background blues. The sound of the wind blowing the leaves around finished the beauty of the day. It wasn’t actually warm enough to be outside stitching, so I’m continuing to work on La Passacaglia as my hand stitching project while sitting in my recliner, which is right beside the window. It doesn’t really look like anything has been done to it. But there has been, really there has. I’m in the process of sewing the sections together. The bottom is completely together, although I don’t have a picture of that for this post. The top left corner is now all sewn together and today I’m working on sewing together the top right corner. The top green one is on, and the orange one below it is halfway on. A couple of weeks ago, I was trying to decide whether to start sewing it together, or to make the last couple of rosettes. Obviously, sewing it together won. It’s a big, long, and not very artistically exciting job, sewing it all together, so I thought I’d do that and get it over with. Once it’s all into the bigger sections, and the last two rosettes are finished and in place, it will be time to start adding on all the white edging. I just might start that before the last two rosettes as well, since it will also be a long and not too terribly inspiring job. But it will mean that this project will be nearing the finish line. I think I’ll leave sewing the whole thing together until after all the edging pieces are on, just to cut down on the weight and bulk of what I’m working on.

I’ve been doing a fair amount of sewing on things other than La Passacaglia, which is mostly just my Sunday stitching project now, so there is a little progress on the stash reduction front. Doing a stash report every other week makes it seem like I’m making better progress, since the used numbers are bigger for two weeks than for one. I need every psychological boost I can get. ;-)

Used last 2 weeks:                              4.1 yards
Used this year:                                   71.1 yards
Added last 2 weeks:                             0 yards
Added this year:                                 110.7 yards
Net stash added:                                   39.6 yards
I’m linking up to Judy’s Stash report and Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching. Then it’s back to my audiobook and more hand stitching.

Sunday Stash and Stitching report

Again, it’s been two weeks since my last report...... sounds like I should be going to confession, doesn’t it? I’ve gotten quite a bit more done on La Passacaglia. Three more rosettes are now done, which means only two more to go!!
Can we have a woohoo, hurray??? I’ve taken the whole project down from my upstairs design wall, and brought it downstairs so I can lay out the parts that need to be sewn together. I have better access to them down here, and I can now take them directly off the wall and make sure they get sewn in where they should. I am thinking at this point that I’ll keep the top and bottom halves of the project separate as I sew in the white edging pieces, just to keep the bulk and weight more manageable. I must confess that I am getting to the point on this project that I am ready to have it done and move onto something else. But I am determined to get it done, so I will persevere.
One thing I am having no problem doing at all this year is adding to my stash. It’s so much fun to get fabrics in the mail, regardless of what it does to my stash numbers. The new and fresh stuff is great to have come in.

Fabric used last 2 weeks:             1.2 yards
Fabric used this year:                      67 yards
Fabric added last 2 weeks:           11.2 yards
Fabric added this year:                110.7 yards
Net stash added:                            43.7 yards

Somehow, I think getting into net stash busted numbers this year is just a pipe dream, at this point. But, since I only do this for fun and curiosity, rather than as a keep track to make sure I use more than I buy thing, it doesn’t really matter.
I’m Linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and Angie’s WIPs Be Gone. Then I’ll have to make a decision...... do I start sewing it all together, or do I do the last two rosettes?

Sunday Stash and Stitching Report, week 40

I did a lot more stitching on La Passacaglia this week, and finished up three more rosette centres.
Then I did some arranging on the wall to find their final spots, and decided on the colours for their star points. This is becoming harder as the project gets closer to being finished, trying to keep the colours balanced, without one colour being to close to itself or too overwhelming.
As of now, I think I have all the rosettes needed for the design as presented in the book. There are a few spots where I would like to add some more. So it could be counted as almost done, but I think there might be 4 or five more yet that I want to do. I'll know more when all these have their stars added to them and then I think I'll sew the whole thing together before I decide for sure whether I'm making more. The colours in the picture of the whole thing are off, and I don't seem to be able to get it true to real life, where it is lighter and brighter, especially the bottom left corner. It's a really grey day outside, which might have something to do with it.
Once I get the stars on these rosettes, I can count them as done, and the stash for them used. In the meantime, I did put together a very fast and easy baby/throw quilt last week, so I can count the yardage for that. I was out at Lens Mills yesterday, picking up some zippers and other odds and ends that I needed for the baby sewing I'm doing, and a couple of pieces of fabric usage;e for La Passacaglia added themselves to the cart, so there's a small added number.

Used this week:                                3.2 yards
Used this year:                             65.8 yards
Added this week:                               .75 yards
Added this year:                             99.5 yards
Net stash added:                              33.7 yards

I'm going to link up to Judy's Fabric Report and Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching. After that, you'll find me making stars, and watching netflix.

Sunday Stash and Stitching report, week 39

We were away for the weekend, visiting Avery for another camping sleepover. I had such a good time, I did very little stitching, and took only one picture. The rest of the time was spent playing and watching and laughing. And I have come to a momentous decision....... very little on earth feels better than holding a little boy's hand!  Although holding a newborn baby would be right up there, too. Anyway, that's slightly off topic.
What little bit of stitching that got done, was in the car on the way home. This rosette is ready for its stars. It's one of the last 5 or six that I have to do, depending on whether I do any extras.

Now, lets see, how can I say this in a way I haven't said before......... not much stash out, more stash added in..... how's that? But it's all for a good cause, the baby, as yet unknown whether boy or girl, due for our daughter in January.  She's doing a themed nursery decoration based on the saying "I love you to the moon and back". So there are stars and moons, to go with the grey/yellow/purple colours she wants. I have a couple more patterns picked out, so the numbers should change a bit, soon.

Sunday Stash and stitching report, week 38

I seem to be averaging every other week on these posts lately. My hand stitching has slowed down a bit, as I begin to work more on machine projects. There's a commercial on TV here days showing a woman cloning herself so that she can get all kinds of things done all at the same time. I would love to be able to do machine sewing and hand sewing and knitting all at the same time. Sadly, not possible. But I am still leaving Sundays for my hand stitching. I have completed 3/4 of La Passacaglia. Here's a close up of the section I've just finished.
I just have the rosettes that go around the top right section left to do, unless I decide to do a few extras to fill in some spaces.
With that in mind, I've done up a couple of the centre stars needed for the new rosettes. There is at least one more kicking around here that is finished, but it seems to have temporarily gone missing.
As far as the stash report goes, there has, of course, been stash added. No self respecting Grandma-to-be could possibly avoid ordering new fabrics for new baby quilts for a new baby. At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. I did use some of that recently ordered stash to make up one baby quilt already. It's a pattern called Ribbon Waltz, found here.

Used last 2 weeks:                         3.3 yards
Used this year:                             62.4 yards
Added last 2 weeks:                       8.5 yards
Added this year:                           94.75 yards
Net stash added:                           32.35 yards

I've already found another design I want to do, so there should be some more stash busted in the next week, or so. And in the meantime, I'm having a blast! And the best of all..... our grandson or granddaughter-to-come gave me a lovely kick hello this morning!!
As usual, I'm linking up to Judy's Fabric Report and Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching. Then, it's back to more slow stitching to go with a lovely cup of tea.

Sunday Stash and Stitching

I have three more small rosettes almost finished for La Passacaglia. These two are finished, and in place around the top left hand section.
I have a couple more of the yellow stars to stitch down, and then this one will go underneath the small orange one. I was hoping to have this one done, and in place tonight, but I can't find my thimble, and my finger that pushes the needle through is starting to get sore.
After this, there's one more to do, and that centre section is done! So close...... so very very close to being done!
I managed to get a backing made for Texas Chain, as well as the last borders done, and I get to count all that as used this time. It really isn't helping my numbers, at this point, but I sure am having fun adding to those numbers! I'm collecting fabrics for baby quilts for our going to be arriving in January grandchild, so the stash added numbers are going up. Whether they come back down again will depend on how many baby quilts I get done. Because we all know there will be more than one.

Used this week:                    7.2 yards
Used this year:                    59.1 yards
Added this week:                     0 yards
Added this year:                 86.25 yards
Net stash added:                27.15 yards.

We've been talking colours and designs lately, Becca who is the mommy-to-be, and I so as soon as I get a chance, I can start sewing up quilt pieces and baby quilts. She's 21 weeks now, and definitely looking like there is a baby coming. She says she's feeling it moving a lot, and Matt's been able to feel the odd kick or two as well. It's getting very exciting!! I'm linking up to Judy's Fabric Report, Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching and Angie's WIPs Be Gone. I haven't checked out any of the links from other people on those sites yet, so I just might do that now, and give the tip pf my finger a rest.
