Design Wall Monday March 5, 2012
I started a new quilt last week. I had 8 out of 12 of the 25 patch sections of these blocks finished as leaders and enders, and did up the last 4 last week, so I could start to work on this quilt. It is out of Judy Laquidara's Weekend Quilts books, and she called it "Gratitude" The center section is halfway sewn together, and I'm going to work on that some more today and tomorrow before going in to work. I find a little quilty stuff done before work seems to energize me, or something. It helps with getting through the shifts. All of the fabric for the borders that go on this are cut, and just need to be sewn. I am liking the way the reds and the aqua type green are looking together. The original choice had been pink, but I like this much better. I'm linking up to Judy's Design wall Monday at Patchwork Times

What a scrappy-happy quilt! It's name -- and it's number of pieces -- make me mindful of the hymn, "Count Your Blessings - Name Them One by One"! I understand how working on a quilting project would totally energize you and make a shift of work all the easier! Have fun playing today -- and I hope your shift is smooth sailing! :)
ReplyDeleteoh that is my kind of quilt-scrappy but controlled too.
ReplyDeleteanother great idea for the L/Enders
It's wonderful Cathy! What a nice mix, and I love the sashing and cornerstones.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and great colors!
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking quilt top. I do like the red and aqua together too.
ReplyDeleteI really like the sashing in this pattern. A good way to use all of those scraps.
ReplyDeleteI love the scrappy look of these blocks. What a lot of work! Can't wait to see the finished product. Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty! I love the concept of leaders and enders, and intend to get set up for that after our move this summer.
