We just might be able to say "SOLD"

After a very intense 4 days, with 13 showings of the house in those 4 days, we just might be able to put a sold sign on the lawn. We have 7 days to wait while the insurance company that insures Canadian mortgages looks at the paper work. This is usually a formality, but it won't be official until those final papers are in our hands. We have heaved huge sighs of relief that it is most likely all finished and we can go back to living in our house and using our house for the month that we have left in it.
In the meantime, I have been keeping my hands and my brains occupied with some easy sewing. I've had this infant border print in my stash for the last 2 1/2 years, and was never quite sure what to do with it. I played around in EQ7 and came up with a fairly easy, but effective, design, using some of the fabrics that I have bought in the last couple of months..
We don't have any babies, that we know of, arriving in the family in the near future. But it never hurts to a have a baby quilt on hand, just in case. It has one more row of four patches to go on the top. Then it will be surrounded by a 1.5 inch border of the green, and then each side is going to get some flying geese, with the goose being a dark blue and the sky being the same yellow as in the four patches. A fast and easy reduction in the stash that has been building up here.
My last order of fabric came in the mail yesterday.
A gorgeous collection of fossil fern prints. There are 90 fat quarters in this box, which computes out to 22.5 yards. YIKES!!  My first though was that these are an appliqe-ers dream. Then I thought they would make a great rainbow something. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them, right now, but they sure are pretty. I'm thinking some of it will go into finishing off the My Tweets quilt I was working on a couple of years ago. This is the last of the fabric orders, for a while. No more fabric purchases. I've put myself on a diet, at least until I have some substantial used numbers to show. I wonder how long the diet will last.......

  3. I hope all goes well with the sale. The last time we moved my sons were 4 & 7 and I was working too. It was really tough keeping the house in "showing" condition.

Cute idea for the baby quilt - you never know when you might need one!

  4. I love your fabric box. They would be great for applique, definitely. Or any design with black. Or something using the lights and darks in HST. Or, or, or! LOL The baby quilt is cute. Now a baby will come along who needs one.

  5. 4 days! Wow! Congrats (or best wishes). I've only sold a house 1 time, and it took 8.5 months to sell. Good luck, and enjoy the last few weeks.

I love reading all your comments, and am grateful for each one. I try very hard to answer them all, but lately I haven’t quite been able to answer all of them.
