Leo’s Mane Sew Along

Slow Sunday Stitching

I’m working on a couple of hand stitching projects at the same time. No surprise there. The embroidery continues and I also got sucked in to a mystery knit along by the designer Casapinka. I have done at least a couple of  her sweater designs and loved them so when I saw that she was doing a mystery shawl knit along I jumped in. I dug around in my stash of fingering weight yarn and came up with four colours that contrast quite nicely with each other. The clues to the mystery come out weekly. I’m a week behind, but that’s ok. It’s quite a lot of fun. Each clue section is presented as if written by her cat so there are quite a few giggles interspersed with the knitting. It’s a 6 week knit along and I’m just starting on the 3rd week.

I have almost finished the last bit of the embroidery for the last row of the centre of my version of Summer Kitchen. This will go at the top where the original design had the embroidered tea towels.

Here’s a couple of close ups.

These were colouring pages found on various free sites on the internet.

Once the last bit of the tea pot and creamer are done I will get tracing and colouring on the blocks that go in the border. I need one more fabric for actually sewing this all together. I’m hoping that I might make it out to a store sometime this week to pick something out.

I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and then will get back to my stitching.

And the mystery knitting quiltalong is so cool... way above my abilities, but quite intriguing to me!

  2. Kathy, how fun to do a mystery knit project. I am very new to knitting but the idea intrigues me. How does that panel became a shawl? Is there another piece that will get attached? Or is that what you don't find out for awhile? So cool.

I love reading all your comments, and am grateful for each one. I try very hard to answer them all, but lately I haven’t quite been able to answer all of them.
