A couple of finishes..... finally!

Abrielle is almost a month old, and she still didn’t have a finished quilt from Grammy...... shameful, right? Well, as of yesterday, she finally has one. I did the quilting, made and added the binding all in one day. Have I mentioned that I love machine sewn binding? Her nursery theme is “love you to the moon and back”. So the quilting is a moon and stars design. And I just noticed, the onesie she’s wearing matches the quilt.
The other finish is the Baby Love double knit blanket. I ended up using a simple crochet stitch around the edge. The icord edging wasn’t doing what I wanted, which was covering up the different colours on the side edge of the knitting. The crochet edging doesn’t lay flat, no matter how ofter I tried ripping it out and changing the stitch count and the hook size. But it does cover the edges. So, in the end I decided that finished is better than perfect.

  1. The quilt and the blanket turned out wonderful. Baby Abrielle is gorgeous!

  2. Lovey baby quilt finishes. Grandma did a wonderful job.

  3. Lucky little gal! She's so sweet!! And don't feel bad. Evey and Olivia are both past one and neither of them has a quilt from me yet!! Yikes!! I adore the Baby Love crocheted blankie -- it's wonderful!! :)

  4. Done is always better than perfect, especially if you have to FROG it a few times - and it looks great!
The quilt is beautiful! The perfect way to showcase a beautiful little granddaughter!

  5. Such great finishes. Abrielle is so precious. Congratulations, Grandma Cathy.

I love reading all your comments, and am grateful for each one. I try very hard to answer them all, but lately I haven’t quite been able to answer all of them.
