Slow Sunday Stitching

I missed posting last week. I got sick.... again. This time with the second nasty flu bug that’s been going around this year, which turned into pneumonia, requiring a trip to the emergency room. However, most of that has now past. I’m well on the mend, just suffering from a lack of energy, and that will return. There was a ten day period in there when I did no stitching what so ever. So I am behind on my goal to get Leo’s Mane done. But since it is only a self imposed goal, it’s not a major problem. I have four side pieces of the fifth border left to sew together and the four corner units to add the setting pentagons to and the the borers are finished a ready to sew into place. I am so excited about this quilt. the more I work on it, the more I love it. I’m getting so close!! So, I’m going to post this and then get down to doing a little bit of stitching before we head out to church this afternoon. I’m linking up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching

Slow Sunday Stitching

Leo’s Mane continues to grow. I have two of the fifth borders finished and ready to sew onto the main body of the quilt.

In addition, there are eight more squares finished and ready to sew together into another border. twelve more to go, plus the corners, and these borders are done and ready to attach. These are the last of the borders for this quilt, unless I decide to add a plain one around the whole thing to stabilize it. I won’t know that until I get there. This is what it looks like so far with these borders laying along side the main body.

And here a close up.

I enjoy this quilt so much! But I must say, I will be so glad to have it finished. then I have to decide on how to quilt it. And at the moment, I haven’t a clue how to do that. If anyone looking at this has any ideas about how to quilt this, I’d appreciate the ideas. In the ditch quilting won’t work because with EPP most of the seams are open, rather than ironed to one side.  Anyhow, I’m going to link up tp Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching, then maybe have something to eat and then get some more stitching done before heading out to church this afternoon.
