I would, again, put a small plain border next and then the outer border. Then bind it with a plain fabric. There would be consistancy and also still a lot of color and splash.Gari in ALhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07695711731891676422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6501866145811920867.post-36541580919200066112012-08-29T13:26:08.568-04:002012-08-29T13:26:08.568-04:00Hello Cathy. If it were not bricks, colors could easily overwhelm the quilt.
While I think a number of border possibilities would work, I think what you've chosen is a good one.Dora, the Quilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16043451474748191494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6501866145811920867.post-47839230196066973432012-08-28T20:31:50.555-04:002012-08-28T20:31:50.555-04:00I agree with Jannette and Kate - I think it's...I agree with Jannette and Kate - I think it's too busy with all the pieces. But you know me: super-busy quilts make my head hurt!
I like how bright and colourful it is - he will LOVE it! He cried at daycare today when they took away the big bus he was playing with (it was interfering with his diaper change) so a staff member has been dispatched to walmart to find him a smaller truck he can always hold! :)Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03238667468282162406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6501866145811920867.post-25338929401715452362012-08-27T22:30:48.933-04:002012-08-27T22:30:48.933-04:00I agree with Jannette, I'd add a solid or some...I agree with Jannette, I'd add a solid or something that reads a solid for the inner border then the bricks as the final border. I think the eye needs a place a rest between the outer border and the quilt, plus it will better frame the center of the quilt. I'd be tempted to add a lighter solid coloured border first, then add the bright printed brick-shaped blocks for the second round and leave it at that. Part of the reason I'd go that route is because there are already so many horizontal lines in the quilt, but they're consistent - the blocks around the edge start and stop in various places and that seems to fracture the lines set up in the quilt.
